Statue circle
Statue circle is a traffic roundabout in Jaipur, the
place of "circles" meaning traffic roundabouts.
The Statue Circle is not only the most famed circle but the
most swarmed situate too. Almost half the Jaipur passes by
this circle. It is the favourite lung of Jaipur and a right
place for evening out. Strangely it acquires its name of statue
circle after its figurine, the statue stands in full imperial
symbols of staff and Jai Singh the founder of modern Jaipur
is made out to be holding out astrological diagrams to exemplify
his proclivity for astrology. The memorial is be fitting to
the great sovereign, builder and futurist. The lighting and
the colourful fountains cheer up the circle and its surrounds.
Flanking to it is an auditorium, science museum and planetarium
composite, also well known as a popular target for annual
sales and showcase of the city. The Statue Circle has other
purposes too. It is the setting for eyeing the town's dates.
The place has some commercial value and fresh air environs
are used for sales briefings too. One can spot tie-clad salesmen
planning their day's work in the morning. The circle is three-forth
of a kilometre and the fitness freaks can work out their daily
dose. The afternoons are taken over by the squatters protesting
on grievances to the government. Of course the brightest spot
are the eateries, it is there in its entire spread of Mumbai
infiltrates like the bhels and paus, the American adoptions
of the burgers, the British patties, hot and spicy and the
universal ice creams and its local cousin kulfi. Balloon man
punctuates the eating stalls and a tie clad salesman trying
to attract you to a product that you never wanted. There is
never a dull moment with shrieks of excited girls and heavily
pulsating hearts behind the bushes make the Statue Circle
the most happening setting of Jaipur
