THE
PRIDE OF JAIPUR
'Aerobics'
has now become a household word in Jaipur, thanks to the achievements
of Raj Kumar Verma, who demonstrated non-stop solo aerobics
for 17 hours 5 minutes at Clarks Amer last week, bettering
his earlier record of 16 hours 35 minutes.
Unlike yoga, "aerobics is fun with music and movement"
says Raj Kumar. He is now all set to register his achievement
with the Guiness Book of World Records for individual absolute
non-stop aerobics performance. The Guinness Book does not
have anyone with this distinction listed in their records
for the individual category this far.
Verma, who hails from Indore was thrilled after completing
his feat. Although Guiness had given him the option of taking
a 15 minute break after every eight hours, Verma declined
and decided to go non-stop. During his record breaking performance
Verma did not take a break even once and only took lime water
a couple of times.
"It took me five years to get the clearance from
Guiness to perform this feat and I am happy that I have achieved
it in one shot" Verma said after completing his solo
run.
Raj Kumar's name will appear in the Guiness Book of World
Records 2003.
