Caring for your pet
Humans complain loudly about their illness. Pets also
fall ill, but it is difficult for us to
find out because they cannot speak. Regular attention to your
pet is a part of total health care and prevention. One must
be familiar with how a normal pet looks and behaves, and recognize
even the slightest change in appearance and behavior. The best
way to ensure your pet remains in good health is to regularly
look out for symptoms of illness. Careful attention can pinpoint
even a slight change, which might save your pet from a great
deal of pain and suffering.
If you notice the following symptoms, consult your vet immediately:
Unusual lethargy.
Constant rejection of feed.
Excessive discharge from eyes, nose and ears.
Excessive drinking of water.
Sudden and excessive weight loss or gain.
Unexplained swelling or lump formation.
Irregular or difficult urination.
Abnormal loss of hair, bald spots, dull coat.
Limping, difficulty in getting up or lying down.
Vomiting or loose motion.
Scratching, biting or licking any part of body.
Bad breath.
Laboured breathing.
