Vidyashram
Spread over an area of 25 acres of land, Vidyashram was founded
on July 29, 1985 with a commitment to unfold and nurture the
talent and potential of the children, and since then it has
been discharging its duties successfully. Vidyashram has been
contributing to the cause of society by producing responsible
and enlightened citizens.
It is the only School in Jaipur, that imparts vedic knowledge
and foster ethical and human values thus imparting formative
education so that the student willingly and unconsciously
absorb the values of Bharatiya Culture.
To built up integrated personalities of the students in harmony
with the changing needs, Guidance and Counselling department
is maintained.Bhavan aslo provides an environment conductive
to love and dedication, thus facilitating opportunities to
excel in studies, sports and co-curricular activities. The
School is affiliated to the Central Board Of School Education,
New Delhi as a Senior Secondary School.
Education System:
Bhavan is engaged in the development of an Educational system
which at its best liberates the human mind from the bondage
of ignorance, leading it to enlightenment.We anticipate the
dynamics of the fast changing environment, with the world
becoming closer, knowledge multiplying and values diminishing.
Hence a work culture rich in values and virtues is adopted.
Communication and computer skill are becoming an essential
part of education, which calls for more holistic and integrated
paradigms in education. bhavan's syatem of education abreasts
the students to meet the need of the day with the following
codification: Preservation of cultural heritage is being carried
out in three broad formats:
Studies in Indian Culture
Special Projects and Programmes.
Co-curricular activities.
Studies in Indian Culture are conducted for all the students
from primary to secondary level. Morning assembly includes,
singing of vedic prayers, bhajans and serves dharmas prathnas.
Inclusions of Instrumental and vocal (Hindustani Classical)
music, imbibes in students the love and respect for their
culture. Films relating to biographies of great people and
various aspects of Indian Culture, are periodically shown.
Teaching of sanskrit and related literature is compulsory
till class VIII. Sloka recitaions forms an integral part of
sanskrit learning. It is optional in Std. IX and X.
Character Building and Inculcating Values:
The institution strives to connect value education to all
the subjects. Value education cannot be taught in isolation.
It permeates the entire learning process. We teach, not only
the knowledge of what 'to do', but what 'to be' as well. Integrated
School Programmes and activities are interwoven with positive
values in such a manner that the child imbibes the values
in each activity. These values form a part of character and
conduct of our students.
School ethos, reflected through posters, pictures, charts
and quotations, has a profound influences in shaping the character.
Literary classes instill values of helping, caring and taking
responsibilities, etc. Orientations programmes for teachers
are organised so that they don't find it difficult to connect
their subjects to value education.
Protection of Environment and Conservation of Natural Resources:
Informative programmes are organised to sensitize the children
to environmental issues like pollution. To protect the environment
and conserve natural resources, plantation programmes are
taken up. Films on conservations, nature and wild life are
shown. to students. In Geography the students make projects
about environment and conservation.
Future Oriented Education:
Computer assisted learning takes place. Personalised Instruction
Methodology is used, enabling one to one relationship between
the teacher and taught.
Latest books are made available in the library and modern
techniques in education are adopted.
Education for all round Development:
Debates, discussions, dance programmes and dramas are organised
to form integrated personality of a student. House cultural
functions are a good opportunity to install comradeship, leadrership
and organisational qualities. Emphasis remains on the process
rather than the product.
Workshops in public speaking, creative writing and dramatics
are conducted. Symposiums are also arranged.
Sports hold an important place. Facilities for various games
and sports are made available in the campus itself.
Evolving a Child Centred Approach to Education:
Interactive approach is adopted.The teacher only becomes the
guiding force. Pairs and peer group activities are planned
so that brighter and adept members can help the low achievers.
The students are made to play many roles as many students
find it easier to speak out behind a mask, which makes them
feel less vulnerable and exposed.
Prefectorial System: School prefects are selected, who form
the school parliaments and are responsible for discipline.
They organise various cultural activities and develop leadership
qualities.
Facilitating Creative Expression:
Art and Craft competitions like Rangoli, Poster making and
Rakhi making, are organised. Talks by experts are also arranged.
Class Magazine and bulletin boards are used for creative expression
and effective communications.
Science and Art Exhibitions held in the School boost creativity.
Inculations of Scientific Temper:
The students grab the opportunity, offered to them, by way
of School Exhibition to manifest their creativity. Models
made by our students can be seen in National level competitions
too.
Various competitions like quiz, symposiums etc. form a necessary
part of Science Day activities.
Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluations System:
The students are assessed on the basis of their written
work and response in the class.These marks are carried forward
for final assessment.Pass percentage is 40%.
Community Service:
Community Service is also taken up by the students. They visit
homes for the handicapped and the destitute and help them
with cash and kind. Adult literacy programmes are also undertaken.
