STP scheme is implemented through Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), which is an autonomous Society of Department of Electronics, Govt of India. The STPI centres provide effective support to the units for clearances under the scheme. For easy implementation and all India coverage India has been divided in to different jurisdictional areas. Each Jurisdictional area is taken care by a nodal office of STPI.

The SoftNET provides International data communication services using the International Gateways of STPI.

In Jaipur an IBS 'C' Earth Station is functional at Exports promotion industrial park, which is serving as an International Gateway to provide SoftNET services in and around Jaipur.
The International helps in connecting to any part of world based on requirement and provides broadband connectivity.

The scheme in general provides various incentives in terms of duty exemption etc. Govt. of India has tried to provide an investor friendly scheme that has been an attraction for major software developing and exporting companies.

Today there are approximately 1000 units operating under STP scheme spread all over India. Government of India has declared software as one of the extreme focus area for growth of exports. Therefore, Govt of India announced a special scheme to promote software exports

One of the objectives of Software Technology Parks of India is to provide effective data communication facilities to the esteemed Software Exporters. In persuasion of this objective the STPI established its own gateways at its nodal centres located in different parts of the country.

The services at the Gateway are provisioned on demand by a professional team. There is a Network Operations Centre (NOC) collocated with the gateway itself. The NOC is operational 24 hrs and provides effective services for network fault restorations. The Software exporters can use this Gateway to get the Datacom Services of STPI in order to get connected to the world .The Gateway is also serving the Internet Services of STPI in this part of the country. The major ISPs can look forward to get services of this Gateway to get connected on the Internet backbone.
