BITS Pilani student gets Rs 59 lakh job offer

The graduates of Birla Institute of Technology and Science ( BITS) Pilani have done it again. The students here are picked up by the best and the highest paying companies. This year Redmont International Ltd. has offered one seventh semester student a whopping package of Rs 58.5 lakh per annum.

Most students have received excellent remuneration packages. EPIC Solution, an IT company, has offered to hire four students, one at a package of Rs 42 lakh and three at Rs 39 lakh annually. The highest package offered to any BITSian was Rs 40 lakh last year.

But the alluring offers do not stop here. Schlumberger, world's leading supplier of technology, integrated project management and information solutions provider for oil and gas, has made Rs 18 lakh propositions to 18 students.

Networking giant Facebook has also shortlisted three students for next round of interview to be held in December. Last year, too, it recruited 12 students at the campus at an annual package of Rs 38.5 lakh. Of the total 500 students in the seventh semester, 401 have already been placed in renowned companies. The placement session started in the last week of August. So far 70 companies have visited the campus and offered openings for 85 different profiles.

About a 100 were offered Rs 10 lakh packages. On the record breaking placements this year, chief placement coordinator, Mani Shankar Dasgupta, said, "There is a good mix of national and international companies visiting the campus for recruitment."
