The upcoming Metro corridor from Mansarovar to Chandpole, that will link the Walled City and a few historic sites, will have stations with a heritage look.

A portion of the Chandpole station facade , which will directly connect the metro network to the Walled City in phase II, will be modelled on Ghat ki Guni heritage . A Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation
(JMRC) official said, "The decision to give Chandpole metro station a heritage look has been finalised ; now the selection of the design is pending. We have received three designs for the Chandpole metro station ."
He added, "After this we have to decide on the design and architect for the metro stations at Sindhi Camp and railway station."
Like Delhi, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will model the station exteriors on the architecture of havelis in the Walled City.
Lalit Meghnani, DMRC project director said, "It was given in the clause that DMRC would develop the station with a heritage look near the Walled City.
Regarding this we have provided the services of consultants who were associated with the state government, UNESCO and world heritage projects."
In Delhi stations at Kashmere Gate and Red Fort have been developed in a similar manner. "The idea is to replicate the look of the monuments at the stations as though they are a part of the heritage site itself," said an official.
However, not everyone is happy. People living on these routes fear that the project will damage the buildings and spoil the heritage structures . But the DMRC officials put to rest such apprehensions .
They said the technology was successfully used to protect historical monuments in Delhi and Chennai for Metro projects.
