Mobile rail reservation van to hit jaipur in Nov 2011

Standing in long queues at the railway reservation counters or paying extra bucks to the rail ticketing agents to get online reservation in trains will soon be a thing of the past. Come November, the passenger rail reservation facility will travel virtually to the passengers' door steps in Jaipur.

A mobile Rail Passenger Ticketing/Reservation Van is likely to start operating in various parts of Jaipur from November 2011, as part of Muskil Asaan scheme announced by the then railways minister Mamata Banerjee in the 2009-10 Railway Budget.

The van was to be unveiled in Jaipur earlier by the present railways minister Dinesh Trivedi on October 21, 2011 but owing to cancellation of his visit, the van is likely to hit Pink City by November.

North Western Railway sources said the van will travel across Jaipur daily between 10.30 am and 4.30 pm. "Though we have not yet shortlisted and identified locations in Jaipur, where the van could be stationed but it will certainly be stationed at busy places, including university, secretariat, Walled City area, posh localities and markets so that people are able to get the maximum benefit from it," a NWR official said.
